Rhizome thick, rarely branched. Fronds to over 1 m long in clusters, semi-deciduous in cool climates. Blade divided twice, lanceolate in outline; branches well spaced along the frond. Stalk scaly at the base. Can grow in cool areas.

'Barnesii' Fronds long, arching, segment toothing pronounced. Origin unknown.

'Cristata' Side branches crested. Origin unknown.

'Linearis' Segments exceptionally fine on long fronds. Origin unknown.

'Linearis Cristata' Segments finely dissected and crested. Origin unknown.
