, Bechtel Crab. Flowers double, 6 cm wide, pale pink and fragrant. Discovered in an old fence row, c. 1840, and int. 1891 by Bechtel Nsy, Staunton, Illinois, usa. Specimens act: Canberra (Australian National University Forestry Department). Vic: Malvern (Henderson Ave, street planting); Monbulk (Bickleigh Vale, 'Winbourne').
