Texas Mud-baby

Plant to 1 m or so tall. Leaves ovate, blades 10-20 cm long, 7-10 cm wide, base cordate to truncate. Flower clusters in 2-6 whorls with 5-15 flowers per whorl; summer. Flowers about 1.5 cm wide on stalks to 6 cm long. Stamens 12-20. Fruits 2-3.5 cm long, beaked.

E. osiris Rataj from Brazil is also available.
