Tillandsia stricta Sol.

Leaves many, in a rosette 6-18 cm long, with grey scales; sheaths obscure; blades very narrow-triangular 4-11 mm wide. Scape erect with leaf-like bracts. Inflorescence simple, many-ranked, dense, 2-7 cm long, 15-35 mm wide; floral bracts yellowish-white to rose pink, the lower ones exceeding the flowers, scaled toward tip; sepals 9-13 mm long, hairless; petals 15-24 mm long, blue or purple, tips spreading, stamens included.
