Tillandsia bergeri Mez

Plant caulescent, rather stout, flowering to 18 cm high. Leaves densely manyranked, to 14 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, with grey scales, narrowly triangular, channelled. Scape erect but soon curved downwards, scape bracts rose-pink, densely scaled. Inflorescence simple, many-ranked, to 7 cm long; floral bracts broadly ovate, deep rose pink with greenish tip, scaled; sepals rose pink, posterior pair united for 6 mm, 16-18 mm long; petals 30 mm long, dull pale lilac with wavy edges; stamens included.
