Billbergia macrocalyx Hook.

Leaves in a tall tubular rosette, 40-60 cm long, 4-6 cm wide, bright green with yellow blotches, grey on the underside; margins with short, widely spaced spines. Scape erect, white mealy, bracts thin, red. Inflorescence erect; floral bracts red; sepals pink with a blue tip; petals green-yellow with a blue recurved tip.
