Billbergia brasiliensis L.B.Sm.

Leaves 8-10 in a large tubular rosette, broadly ligulate, silver cross-banded beneath. Scape white powdery, the red scape bracts massed beneath the inflorescence. Inflorescence pendulous, densely white mealy except for the petals; petals dark blue-purple, spirally rolled back, white at the base.
