Aechmea calyculata (Morren) Baker

Rosette funnel-shaped. Leaves deep green, stiff, to 60 cm long, 3-4 cm wide, rounded, margins finely toothed. Inflorescence on a reddish scape 30 cm long, with a dense pyramidal spike. Flowers bright yellow.

A. calyculata is in the subgenus Ortgiesia (Group 4)
