Oraniopsis (Becc.) J. Dransfield, A.K. Irvine & Uhl

Orania – a genus of palm and opsis – resemblance.

A single-species genus. For description see O. appendiculata.

Slow growing but will survive in warm-temperate regions. Needs shade when young. Occurs naturally in rainforest from lowland to highland districts.

Fresh seeds are slow and erratic to germinate.

Sturdy palm with erect to arching greyish-green feather-shaped leaves.

1 species in Queensland.
