Similar to C. miniata but flowers narrowly trumpet-shaped, nodding and faintly curved, usually salmon-orange but yellow to almost red forms are known; late winter, spring. A hybrid between C. miniata and C. nobilis with flowers intermediate in form between the two.
Garden Origin
Narrowly trumpet-shaped flowers intermediate in shape and size between its parents and without conspicuous green tips.
C. caulescens Dyer from Natal is easily recognised by its distinct stem to about 50 cm tall and leaves to over 1 m long; flowers narrow, drooping, salmon orange with the tepals greentipped; spring. Recently introduced to Australian horticulture.
