Josephine's Lily

Bulb to about 20 cm wide. Leaves several, strap-like, waxy blue or greenish, thick, to 90 cm long; flower stalk to about 45 cm long. Flowers 20-30, rarely up to 60, fragrant; individual stalks stiff, to 15 cm long; perianth bright red, 7-8 cm long, slightly but distinctly up-curved, 3 upper tepals bent back; summer. Fruit capsule not angled.

Numerous long ascending leaves, large umbel of red up-curved flowers.
