Amorphophallus konjac Koch

Corm to about 30 cm wide and weighing to 10 kg with numerous offsets. Leaf blade highly divided, to over 1.5 m wide; leaflets 3-10 cm long. Leaf stalk to about 1 m long. Inflorescence stalk to 1 m or so tall. Spathe mostly 20-40 cm long, pale brown with greenish spotting, margin flushed with purple, inside base maroon with or without a paler, whitish to purple zone above; spring. Spadix stalkless, about 45-80 cm long with a purplish-brown appendix. Syn. A. rivieri Carr., 'Konjac'.
