Aglaonema pictum (Roxb.) Kunth

Upright plant to about 70 cm tall. Leaves oblong-ovate, to about 15 cm long, 6 cm wide, blunt, the margins crisped, the upper surface satiny and variegated with pale green and silvery patches on dark green; stalks much shorter than blade, translucently sheathed. Spathe roundish, about 3 cm long, dark green, becoming yellow. Spadix club-shaped, longer than spathe.

A. modestum Engl. is sometimes available, as is the similar A. simplex Blume, generally as the narrow-leaved 'Angustifolium'.
