Perennial herbs, dormant in summer. Corms globose with fibrous tunics. Leaves basal, linear. Stem erect, wiry. Spike more or less 2 sided. Spathes papery, truncate. Perianth tube longer than spathe, erect, straight, narrow-cylindrical; lobes equal, spreading. Stamens symmetrically arranged. Style branches entire, linear, spreading.
