Gelasine Herb.

Greek gelasinos – one who laughs.

Perennial herbs with bulbs. Leaves pleated. Spathes 2-4 flowered. Perianth funnel-shaped, blueviolet; segments slightly unequal, clawless, joined at base, the inner with nectaries. Stamens with thick filaments joined into a tube. Style branches 3, opposite stamens and shorter than them, clavate, obtuse.
