Medium sized epiphyte. Pseudobulbs ovoid, to 7 cm long, compressed. Leaves linear, to 30 cm long, to 1.5 cm wide. Flowers 2-5, to 10 cm wide, mostly white, petals often purple at base, labellum yellowish at base; winter. Sepals ovate, pointed. Petals ovate, similar to sepals. Labellum almost round, with 2 small backwardpointing lobes at base, callus of 3 basal ridges. Syn. Miltonia roezlii (Rchb. f.) Nicholson

M. vexillaria (Rchb. f.) God.-Leb. from Colombia and Ecuador is a medium sized epiphyte with racemes of 4?6 mostly pinkish flowers each with an almost round LABELLUM that has a yellow basal callus. Miltonia vexillaria (Rchb. f.) Nichols.
