Small epiphyte. Pseudobulbs ovoid, to 4 cm long, clustered. Leaves 2 or 3, oblong, to 18 cm long, to 3 cm wide. Flowers 2-4, to 8 cm wide; summer. Sepals and petals similar, oblanceolate, spreading, yellow-green or olive-green. Labellum simple or obscurely 3-lobed, fiddle shaped, notched at tip, white with green throat.

E. citrina (La Llave & Lex.) Withner from Mexico is a medium sized pendent epiphyte with drooping inflorescences of 1 or 2 golden-yellow flowers, each with an orange labellum.
