Robust terrestrial. Pseudobulbs cylindrical, to 25 cm long, broad below, purple. Leaves about 3, elliptic, to 30 cm long, to 13 cm wide, green, purplish below. Flowers 2-5, to 5 cm long; summer. Sepals and petals yellowish with red stripes. Labellum pale yellow to golden.
