Slender evergreen shrub with stems and leaf stalks spotted white. Leaves of 7-11 narrow, thick, linear leaflets to about 20 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, brownish red at first but becoming dark greenish black with whitish midrib, margins undulate and with coarse teeth. Adult plants have larger, less toothed leaves. Flowers greenish; autumn and winter. Fruits round and black. [Dizygotheca elegantissima Mast.]
