Silver Wormwood

Erect perennial shrub to 1 m tall, hairy above, becoming glabrous below. Stems branched. Leaves along stems, to 7 cm long, once or twice divided, with lobes 1-2 mm wide, white-hairy on both surfaces. Capitula about 7 mm across, in large leafy panicles; spring to summer. Receptacle hairy. Involucral bracts with wide membranous margins. Florets yellow-brown.

Europe, Middle East, N Africa

Often cultivated as a hedge plant; the cultivar A. 'Porquerolles' is listed.
