Western Catalpa

Deciduous tree to 30 m tall. Leaves to 30 cm long, cordate at the base, tips longpointed, margins occasionally with a few lobes. Flower clusters branched. Flowers about 4.5 cm long, white with purple spots and yellow lines in the throat; late spring-summer. Fruit capsules to about 50 cm long, about 1.5 cm wide.

Large tree; leaves not smelling when crushed, cf. C. bignonioides; flowers white with spotting and yellow lines in the throat.
