Syringa tomentella Bur. & Franch.

A deciduous shrub to about 3 m tall. New growth green. Leaves oblong to lanceolate, to about 13 cm long, generally softly downy below. Flower clusters erect, to about 15 cm long and fairly open. Flowers about 1 cm long, pale lilac outside, white inside, fragrant; early summer.
