Prairie Sage

Herbaceous perennial to over 1m tall. Leaves narrowly linear to lanceolate,mostly to about 5 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, margin entire or toothed, stalked. Flowers in spikes or branched clusters of sometimes more than 20 verticillasters, each of 3-6 flowers. Corolla to about 1 cm long, tube 5 mm long, mostly clear blue but occasionally white; summer to autumn.

var. grandiflora Benth. Leaves mostly longer and wider than the species. Flowers in groups of 6-12 in dense spikes.
