Madagascar Palm

Shrub or small tree to 8 m high. Stems spine-covered, with the spines in pairs. Leaves stalked; blade linear-lanceolate to oblanceolate, up to 25 cm long and 4 cm wide, upper surface glossy green, lower surface green-white; tip acute to apiculate; base attenuate. Flowers 6-11 cm wide; corolla salver-shaped, white.
