Desert Rose

Succulent subshrub to small tree up to 5 m high, stems swollen at base and up to 1(2) m wide; latex clear to white. Leaves sessile to subsessile; blade linear to obovate, 3-17 cm long, 0.2-5 cm wide; tip acute, long-pointed or mucronate; base cuneate to rounded. Flowers 2-4.5 cm wide; corolla pale pink to red, rarely white; lobes obovate to suborbicular.
