Acer sieboldianum Miq.

Small, erect tree. Branches and branchlets hairy. New growth slightly sticky. Leaves with 7-11 lobes, 6-9 cm wide, dark green, hairy in vein axils below; lobes doubly toothed. Fruit wings 2-4 cm long, near upright.

Japan.

Similar to some variants of A. japonicum and A. palmatum but distinguished by its erect habit and the hairy leaf stalks and lower leaf surfaces.

Acer sieboldianum 'Sode-no-uchi'

Dwarf, rounded, small-leaved shrub. Leaf lobes mostly 9-11. Leaves yellowish green, yellow, suffused crimson in autumn. Originated in Japan.
