Rosa villosa L.

Shrub to about 2 m tall. Prickles scattered, straight or curved. Leaflets 5-9, 3-6 cm long, elliptic, hairy on both surfaces, teeth compound; stipules broad. Flowers 1-3 together, single, dark pink, scented; summer. Styles free, not protruding. Fruit to 3 cm wide, dark red, bristly.
