Desert Rose

Shrub with thin, hairy stems growing to about 1 m tall. Prickles, thin, straight, yellow, generally paired and combined with bristles. Leaflets 3-5, with star-shaped hairs at least on the lower surface, teeth mostly simple. Flowers solitary, single, pink to red or purple; summer. Styles free, not protruding. Fruit to about 2 cm wide, redbrown, bristly.
