Rosa primula Boulenger

Shrub to about 3 m tall with thin stems. Prickles large, straight. Leaflets 9-13, to 2 cm long, elliptic to obovate, hairless above, glands below, teeth compound, aromatic when crushed. Flowers solitary, single, to about 4 cm wide, yellow; late spring to early summer. Fruit 1-1.5 cm wide, roundish, reddish to reddish purple, hairless.

N China to Russia.
