Rosa pimpinellifolia L.

Burnet Rose

Shrub to about 2 m tall with purplish brown stems. Prickles dense, straight and narrow, combined with bristles. Leaflets mostly 7-9, broad, hairless above, sometimes hairy on midvein below, teeth simple. Flowers solitary, single or double, creamy white; summer. Fruit mostly 1-1.5 cm wide, roundish, brownish black, hairless.

China, Korea to SW and C Asia, S and W Europe.
