Rosa nitida Willd.

Erect shrub to 1 m tall. Prickles few, straight, darkly coloured. Leaflets 5-9, to 3 cm long, hairless above, slightly hairy below, teeth simple. Flowers mostly solitary, 4-6 cm wide, dark pink, fragrant; summer. Styles free, not protruding. Fruit about 1 cm wide, round, deep red, bristly.
