Field Rose

Climbing or trailing shrub. Prickles large, curved, well spaced. Leaflets 5-7, elliptic to ovate, to 4 cm long, hairless except sometimes on veins below; stipules narrow. Flowers 1-8, single, to 5 cm wide, fragrant, petals white to pink; summer. Styles united, protruding. Fruit to 2.5 cm wide, spherical or ovoid, red.
