Prairie Rose

Shrub mostly 0.5-1 m tall, usually with prickles and bristles. Leaflets mostly 9-11, elliptic to obovate, shiny and hairless above, downy on veins beneath, teeth simple; stipules narrow. Flowers in lateral clusters of variable flower number, each to 4 cm wide, deep pink; summer. Fruit pear-shaped to round, red.
