White Rose

A hybrid of uncertain parentage. A shrub to about 2 m tall with arching stems. Prickles dispersed, hooked, often with bristles. Leaves deciduous; stipules wide. Leaflets 5(7), ovate to roundish. Flowers 1-3, 6-8 cm wide, semi-double or double, white or pale pink, fragrant; summer. Sepals lobed and leafy at the tip, bent back and shed after flowering. Fruit 2-2.5 cm wide, almost round, red.
