Prunus 'Pollardii'

Flowers large, pink, single, 5-6 cm wide. Syn. P. ×amygdalo-persica 'Pollardii'.

A putative hybrid between P. persica and P. dulcis which appeared in 1864 as a chance seedling on the former property of Mr J. Pollard. Buninyong Bowling Club, Vic. 'Pollardii' was one of the parents of P. 'Wrightii', a hybrid raised in New Zealand. It is similar to P. 'Pollardii' but has smaller flowers.
