Fuji Cherry

Deciduous tree to 10 m tall. Leaves ovate to obovate, to 9 cm long, reddish when young, acuminate, serrate margins deeply and doubly incised. Flowers in 1s, 2s or 3s, on stalks 3 cm long, arising from a leaf-like toothed bract, pink in bud, opening white, to 3 cm wide. Petals notched at the tip. Fruit round, purple-black, 7 mm wide.
