Prunus campanulata Maxim.

Taiwan Cherry

Deciduous tree to about 8 m tall. Leaves narrowly ovate to obovate, margins toothed, to 10 cm or more. Flowers in pendulous, stalked umbels of 2-6, each 15 mm wide, deep red-purple, bell-shaped, petals notched at the tip, flower stalks about 15 mm long, cluster stalk about 10 mm long. Fruit red, ovoid, to 15 mm long.

Japan, Taiwan.
