Sheep Laurel

Shrub to 2 m tall. Branchlets reddish brown. Leaves opposite or in 3s, oblong to oblong-lanceolate to about 7 cm long. Flowers in small lateral clusters developed on the previous year's growth, petals reddish purple to pink; summer. Fruit a compressed spherical capsule; seeds yellow with 2 wings.
