Large shrub to small tree with characters ranging between those of the 2 parents, a. andrachne and A. unedo. However, the leaf stalks are not so glandular as those of A. unedo and the toothed leaves are slightly waxy blue or hairy below. Flowers white, in glandular, slightly drooping panicles; flowering time variable. Fruit 1-1.5 cm wide and smoother than those of A. unedo.
Natural hybrid in Greece but also raised in cultivation
A hybrid that occurs naturally in the wild but that has also arisen in cultivation.
Trunk deep red to chestnut brown not pale red and peeling; flowers white in more or less drooping clusters; leaves slightly waxy blue or hairy below, margins saw-toothed.
