Commemorating K.P.J. Sprengel (1766–1833), German botanist and physician.
Erect shrubs. Branchlets hairless. Leaves stem-clasping at the base, shed from older parts of stems. Flowers terminal or axillary, often solitary towards the tips of the branches. Floral tube short or with the lobes, spreading, more or less free. Stamen filaments flattened, attached at the base of the ovary. Ovary 5-chambered with several ovules in each cell.
Cuttings but difficult.

4 species endemic to Australia, all states except Western Australia and Northern Territory.
