Sago-leaf Rock Rose

Evergreen shrub less than 1 m tall. Leaves to about 3.5 cm long, ovate to elliptic or oblong, downy on both surfaces but rough and wrinkled above; stalked. Flowers solitary, rarely to 3 together. Sepals 5. Petals white with yellow base.

C. monspeliensis L. is occasionally grown; it has pure white petals.
