Mammillaria wrightii Engelm.

Solitary or clustering, body elongate, to 5 cm wide and 10 cm high. Tubercles prominent. Axils bare. Central spines (1-)2-3(-7), 5-21 mm long, brownish, one or more hooked. Radial spines 12-30, 6-19 mm long, white, fine. Flowers purple to magenta, to 5 cm long and 7.5 cm wide. Fruit large, to 15 mm long. [M. wilcoxii K. Schum.]
