Mammillaria scrippsiana (Britton & Rose) Orcutt

Solitary or clustering, body elongate, to 8.5 cm wide and 30 cm high. Axils white woolly. Tubercles prominent, ovoid. Central spines 2, to 1 cm, brown. Radial spines 8-10, 6-8 mm long, pinkish-red. Flowers pinkish-yellow to purplish-pink, 1.5 cm long and wide. Fruit red.
