Solitary or eventually clustering, body elongate, wide 5-6 cm and 12 cm high, with milky sap. Axils woolly. Tubercles prominent. Central spines 4, 10-15 mm long, brown. Radial spines 20, 4-6 mm long, white, fine. Flowers purple-pink or pink with darker central stripe, 1.5 cm long. Fruit red.
