Mammillaria prolifera (Mill.) Haw.

Clustering, body elongate, 4-5 cm wide and 8-9 cm high, without milky sap. Axils woolly and bristly. Tubercles prominent, conical. Central spines 5-12, 4-9 mm long, white, yellowish or reddish. Radial spines 25-40, 3-12 mm long, bristle-like. Flowers cream-yellow, with reddish central stripe, to 18 mm long. Fruit red, to 2 cm long.
