Mammillaria pennispinosa Krainz

Solitary or eventually clustering, body globular or elongate, to 3-4 cm wide, root turnip-like, without milky sap. Tubercles obscure. Axils woolly. Central spines 1(-3), 10-12 mm long, red-brown, tip hooked. Radial spines 16-20, 5-8 mm long, grey. Flowers whitish or pinkish with pink central stripe, 1.5 cm long and wide. Fruit red.
