Mammillaria melaleuca Salm-Dyck

Solitary or occasionally clustering, body globular, to 10 cm wide. Tubercles prominent, cylindrical to 10 mm long. Axils bare. Central spine solitary (or absent), 12-14 mm long. Radial spines 6-7(-9), 12-14 mm long, upper brown, lower white. Flowers yellow, to 3 cm long and wide. Fruit greenish. [Dolichothele melaleuca (Karw.) Britton & Rose]
