Mammillaria magnimamma Haw.

Clustering and mounding, body depressed globular, to 12 cm wide, with milky sap. Tubercles prominent, pyramidal. Axils woolly. Spines sub-central 2-5, variable in length, commonly to 5 mm, grey or yellow, tips brown, lower spine longer, to 50 mm. Flowers deep pink or pale yellow, to 2.5 cm long and wide. Fruit purplish red.
