Mat-forming fleshy herb. Leaves broadly ovate, cordate, mostly 1-3 cm long and to 2 cm wide. Sterile stamens pink to purple, fused for most of their length; stamens about half the length of the sterile stamens. Capsule narrowly obconical about 1 cm long.

This is a naturalised scrambling mat-forming herb that grows in coastal and inland saline habitats.
Leaves ovate, cordate; sepals 4; ovule placentation axile.
