Rhizome short and thick; scales red-brown to black with long-pointed tips. Fronds pendent, to 1 m long, divided 1-2 times. Blade thick and leathery, not producing plantlets. Sori marginal and solitary on each ultimate segment.
Will tolerate cool conditions.
